Food was great as always. Service was wonderful . Great place to celebrate a birthday. The staff goes the extra mile to sing and give a free icecream. We take pictures of the birthday girl in the big sombrero. Margaritas are the perfect blend of sweet and sour. I get the top shelf and they have a kick.

Excellent customer service. I loved the fesh salsa and chips. My trio fajita was okay.. in my opinion, proteins were not seasoned enough. Overall, very friendly staff.

This place is great! The food was wonderful, and the dining area had a very cozy atmosphere. My only complaint is our waitress was not very friendly or attentive, however every other server was great with their tables so I'll keep the 5 star rating. We will definitely be returning in the future!

Food was pretty good, but I wouldn't say extraordinary.

My favorite go-to place for Mexican food. Margarita's are amazing! The only so-so thing I've ever had here are the chiles rellenos. Everything else has been very good. Oh, and don't skip the guacamole, you'll be sorry!

This place has always been consistent for quality Mexican food. I always get the fajitas. While the quantity has shrunk over the years, the quality hasn’t. I’m not sure if anywhere you can get a full fajita meal with shrimp, steak, and chicken during lunch for $11. It’s location is prime but parking can be a challenge during the dinner and lunch rush. The waiters will be a little friendlier to the Spanish speaking clientele, asking if they prefer a booth or table for example. Very clean and very good.

Wow! Tamales were best I've had and I'm a major Mexican/Latin food lover! All other things were on point. Busy but excellent service. Clean as well.

Don Jose's at the corner of Vets and Williams in Kenner is probably one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area, especially if you throw out the purely authentic dive places. The food and margaritas are good, the menu is extensive, and the service is reasonable. Don't expect perfection in any area, but nothing dips below average, either.

I have never left a one star review, but this was pretty close to the worst Mexican food I have had in a very long time. The chips were warm and fresh, but the salsa tasted like tomato sauce. The rice was good. Everything else was barely edible. The queso sauce that spilled out of the Chile relleno was terrible and the Chile was tough. The enchilada sauce was wrong also. Not sure how it garnered 4.5 stars, unless no one in Louisiana has had real Mexican food.

Best Mexican food ever!!!

Really disappointing. This place was recommended by a friend. We were told we had a 20 minute wait. After 30 minutes, the hostess sat a family of 6 and another family of 3, both had come in after us (we had a party of 2). Both of the other parties were non English speaking. There were several empty tables as we walked out and she still did not attempt to secure our business. I never give ratings this low but this was pure discrimination!

Really nice restaurant, the service is great. The food is always really good. You can tell they care about your experience. The restaurant has a really nice vibe and atmosphere. It's not formal but it feels nice and classy. Great place to bring family or large group of people. I love the fajitas and the chicken tacos.

This is a beautiful place. With that being said the food was subpar. I ordered the taco salad with steak. The steak was wonderful however the salad wasn't much of a salad. The bowl that it came in was stale. It was mostly cheese with very little lettuce and 1 slice of tomato a little guacamole and sour cream. That's it. My husband ordered the house dinner. he said it was just okay and it was one step above Taco Bell. I ate a taco that came with it because my husband refused to eat it because the shell was from a box. The meat had little-to-no seasoning.. we really don't recommend eating here. The house Margarita was good.

Don Jose has consistently good food - much better than most Mexican restaurants in the area. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is our order frequently comes out wrong (a modification not made, etc.).

Liked the atmosphere and the food, but it took too long to get our food and our drinks. Everytime you had to wait a long time for the server to come to your table.

Early Dinner for one after I landed at MSY. Good polite service, the food and drink came out quickly.

Just a casual visit as a "first timer". Ordered a house margarita, caso, guacamole, salsa, rice and beans. No complaints. Good service and live music.

For Mexican food this is number one in Louisiana. Customers service and food quality.

Their Grilled Chicken Burrito with Avocado wrapped in a wheat tortilla topped with their special sauce was pretty damn good.

Fast service, with tables always available. Your food comes fast and I mean fast. Chips are not made in house but their salsa is very good. Overall quality of the food is ok with some dishes being better than others. Drinks are very good and so are the desserts. Overall, great ambiance and service with ok food!

The food was very good! I didn't like that you had to read the menu on your phone!

First time at Don Jose's for our monthly family meal - daughter's choice. We were greeted warmly upon entering and immediately seated. We visited on Saturday around 230pm, which was perfect since it wasn't crowded. We had a great waiter and everything was beautifully presented, perfecyly cooked, and was hot. Everyone enjoyed their meals, including me. Pricing was less costly than expected. We will definitely return.

Nice place, good food, nice staff.Just wished they would've spoke English a little bit better. I found that I had some what of a hard time with the language barrier. I'm Native American. I'm not Hispanic but nobody believes me so I find that I get a lot of dirty looks.

Portions are LARGE! Able to accommodate large parties. We had 10. A larger group seated next to us . Service was prompt.

Very good food for a reasonable price. The sopapilla dessert is excellent, but it's best to share. The restaurant is kept clean and the staff is friendly and efficient. This is a very good Mexican restaurant and much better than fast food Mexican restaurants.

This is my family's go to spot for Mexican when we are in town. My family that lives there are regulars and we are not treated any differently when we come through. They have great drinks and the food is the best in the area.

Delicious and refreshing. I had the Texas Margarita 44oz and it was sooo worth it. The fajitas were delicious and they specifically listened to exactly what I wanted and it was the best I have ever ordered.The restaurant itself has nice decor and is different levels and even a nice entry way decor sets the vibe. Will def come back to this restaurant next year when attending the dog show.

This place was OK. I wanted to love it, but the food wasn’t great. Not bad though. Very good service. Free chips and salsa (pretty mild salsa). I’m sure there are other things on the menu I would like better, but my experience wasn’t that great. The steak was pretty burnt and crispy too.
